Curious about social dancing? Come for a crash course in swing dancing and meet the gang at Uptown Swing Collective! See what we’re all about, and why we’re so in love with this happy, joyful dance.

No experience, partner, or commitment needed. You’re highly encouraged to stay and meet our community at the dance practice afterwards.

Dress in whatever makes you comfortable, and please wear clean shoes with non-marking soles (or you are welcome to dance in socks).

Join us for a new (school) year of dancing and fun! We’ve had a great summer, now we’re heading back indoors to the dance studio

This is an opportunity to practice your moves and work with others on things you’ve learned! Take this opportunity to meet your instructors and the USC team, see our studio space in the new New Westminster Secondary School, and get a feel for what USC is all about - building community!

Prior to the Community Dance Practice, we are holding an Open House (see above) with a free beginner dance lesson, so tell your friends!

In order to protect the beautiful wooden floor at the new dance studio, we ask everyone to wear clean, indoor shoes, or socks.

Our goal is to help create a stronger and more inclusive swing dancing community. With that in mind, please review the brief code of conduct below:

Code of conduct

Be patient and kind. This is a chance for dancers of all levels to work on progressing their skills.

Provide feedback/advice to others only if they have requested it, or you have confirmed that they are receptive to your feedback by first asking “Are you open to feedback/advice?”

If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend.

Please offer to wear a mask if your dance partner or the person you are working with is wearing one.
