Everyone Can Jazz Jam

Learn about swing jazz music and how to play jazz music together, in a fun and supportive atmosphere, with enthusiastic and experienced facilitators.

This weekly drop-in will emphasize the skills required for building connections through jazz music, supporting and encouraging one another, playing music in a group (small and large ensemble), and participating in a jazz jam.

ECJJ Format

• Each 45-minute ECJJ session will be led by a member of the ECJJ house band.

• A list of songs and their keys, from the ECJJ Songbook, will be available to choose from.

• At ECJJ, a sign-up sheet will be available for participants to name the song they would like to jam to.

• The house band leader will call people up to play their selected song(s).

• With the exception of drums and piano, participants are expected to bring their own instrument(s). Only a drumkit and a piano will be available.
